National Catholic Daughters History

“With Mary as our exemplar, we continue to make a difference—in our parishes, our communities, our country, and our world.”

💜 About St. Anthony

St. Anthony of Padua (1195–1231) was a Franciscan friar known for his deep love of Scripture, powerful preaching, and compassion for the poor. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, he joined the Franciscan Order after being inspired by the lives of the early martyrs. His remarkable knowledge of the Bible and his ability to touch hearts through simple, heartfelt words made him one of the Church’s most beloved saints.

Miracles surrounded St. Anthony both during his life and after his death—he is often called upon by those who have lost something precious, whether it be an item, peace of heart, or faith itself.

🌿 Why St. Anthony Inspires Our Court

As the Daughters of St. Anthony Court #2651, we look to our patron saint as a model of humility, faith, and service.
His example reminds us that even the smallest acts of kindness can bring great glory to God.

“Actions speak louder than words; let your words teach and your actions speak.”
— St. Anthony of Padua

Through his intercession, we strive to:

  • Serve our parish and community with joy and compassion.

  • Support those in need—spiritually and materially.

  • Strengthen our unity as women of faith, working together for the good of others.

🌸 Prayer to St. Anthony

Glorious St. Anthony,
gentle servant of God and friend of the poor,
we seek your intercession and guidance.
Help us to find what is lost—
faith, hope, or peace within our hearts—
and to live always in love and charity.

Pray for us, dear St. Anthony,
that we may walk in Christ’s light
and serve others with the same compassion that filled your heart.

Amen.

Our Two Fold Purpose: Spirituality and Service

The integration of spirituality and service is the foundation of the Catholic Daughters.  The Catholic Daughters of America (CDA) helps women develop their spirituality and provides avenues of service to live out that spirituality.  The Catholic Daughters of America gives members a unique opportunity to share their faith with other Catholic women.  Helping others through charitable acts in the spirit of Jesus Christ is the heart of our organization. "Spirituality and Service" is the heart and soul foundation of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
