Bingo Update 9/10/2026

Good Saturday Afternoon,

Thursday night's bingo had 57 players in attendance, and we had a profitable night.  Assisting me and Betty were Susan Z., Lucille, Nancy, Janice and Sophia.  Maria was the caller and Jody was the cashier.  The Powerball was paid out at $219, and Betty Boop paid out at $180.  Susan Z.  sold her large homemade cookies for $3, and then you received a "free" Betty.  It works every time!  The Betty Boop sales were higher than normal....it's something about those cookies.

Assisting Laurie in the kitchen were both Dianes, Mary and Rosie.  They sold out of food again and their sales totaled $368.  Their sales were a little lower due to the sale of cookies as they then sold less of their desserts.

Bob Z. and J. W. assisted A.J. with set up and clean up.  Kuddos to them for assisting us every Thursday night!

We need more assistance from the Daughters with bingo.  We can use one or two more callers.  Anna was scheduled to call on Thursday and something personal came up; and we had to ask Maria to cover for her.  It's not a difficult job and you will be trained.  If we had four callers, each person could call once a month.  And the same applies to the cashier as Anita and Jody share this responsibility; and if they have plans on the same week, that leaves me or Betty to cashier.  This is not a difficult job either.  I have tried several times to come up with a schedule, and we do have a couple of ladies that are willing to work every other week and they do show up.  However, we sometimes fall short with help.  I understand that sometimes there are too many people and you don't like just sitting around.  On the nights we have too much help, you can always leave early.

Please remember that bingo is our only fundraiser.  We need all of the Daughters to take an active role in supporting and working on a Thursday night.

Betty will be alone this Thursday, September 17, as I will be out of town for a few days.  I will be at the Court meeting on Monday so let me know if you would like to be added to the list of bingo workers.

Thanks for all you do for our Court and Parish.  A special thank you to all the ladies mentioned in this e-mail, Betty and I appreciate your participation and assistance every Thursday night.
